Geocache Description:

This cache was placed for an upcoming event for the new cacher in the family GPS_JUNKY 4. The event was on May 30th. 2009. Just placed to have some new caches in the area for people like "DOC" who got them all from the area all ready. Not quite a P & G but close too it. Tried to hide 20 caches today so the cords might be a little off. If they are, post your cords. I will get updated right away. Oh yea, I didn't have any pens to put in cache, so bring your own.

MANAGEMENT: This lake has occasional, partial winterkill conditions. The quality of the fishery is variable depending on the frequency and severity of winterkills. No maintenance fish stocking occurs, but there may be some restocking following winterkills. The only recent planting was of northern pike fingerlings in 1997.

FISHING INFORMATION: You won't find wild Goose Lake a wild goose chase. There are good northerns and bass, says Carlin. However, she notes Wild Goose is well known for crappies. "You won't get skunked if you go crappie fishing," she says. Fish early on the mud flats in the south end. Later, fish the deep hole at the center of the lake for crappies and the occasional walleye. The marshy area on the northwest is the spot to fish for bass and northerns.
