Mongo: ###ARCHIVING CACHE###

No response from cache owner.

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note (by email at reviewer.mongo@gmail.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,

Mongo

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed on the Indian Foothills Park Disc Golf Course in Marshall, Mo. Special thanks to Park Director Jeff Stubblefield for granting permission for the hide.

The cache is in a container large enough for plenty of trade items and is hidden just off of one of the toughest holes on the disc golf course. Although not a long hole, the fairway is a narrow path through the woods with some rough terrain to penalize an errant throw.

For those who don't know what disc golf is, it is basically golf with a Frisbee. Rather than hitting a ball into a hole, a disc (Frisbee) is thrown into a large metal basket known as a pole hole. Just like in ball golf, players continue to throw from where their disc ended up after their last throw until the disc lands in the basket.

The cache will start with a few small trade item, a first to find dollar and at least two travel bugs, and I hope it becomes a regular stop for bugs and coins. Additionally, I would like for it to become an exchange depot for disc golf mini discs. Again, for the non disc golfers, a mini disc is a smaller disc that players use to mark their lie for the next throw. Mini discs often have the logo of a course, club, park, etc making them fun to collect. I will try to keep a few in the cache.

Even though the terrain is a bit rough, it should be a fairly quick find. It is approachable from more than one direction, which makes the difficulty vary. Only muggles would be the occasional disc golfer, quite possibly me! Remember to let me know in the log where you are from.

Congrats to Eye In The Sky(.)(.) on the ftf!
