Please note, the cache is NOT at the coordinate listed!! This cache is a camo’d find-a-key. It has just enough room inside for the log so please bring your own writing instrument. It is in a high muggle area but you should be able to snatch the cache & return it without anyone noticing. Located in the historic downtown area, this is a perfect cache for cruisers visiting our fine town.
For this cache you will visit three amazing totem poles in about a one block radius in the downtown Ketchikan area that are a must see on your cruise. To make sure you see them, I’ve put together a multi-cache for your enjoyment! Visit the totem poles, answer some questions, and use those answers to come up with coordinates for the final cache. ** The location of the geocache is at coordinates of ** North 55°AB.CDE', West 131°FG.HIJ'. Being a major tourist attraction, the totem poles are a great place for taking photographs. Photos are encouraged as long as you don't upload photos that give away answers. Any spoiler pictures will be removed. The questions are designed so that you can enjoy uploading some good pictures without ruining this multi-cache for other geocachers. The 3 poles are located at the following: The Raven Stealing the Sun Totem Pole is at N 55° 20.547’, W 131° 38.595’ The Chief Kyan Totem Pole is at N 55° 20.497’, W 131° 38.646’ The Chief Johnson Totem Pole is at N 55° 20.520’, W 131° 38.562’. Stop at each of the Totem Poles to find out what numbers to plug in for the letters. You will have to do some searching at the poles, some reading, & some adding & subtracting for this one.
