FIN: Havukkakallio on Pohjois-Karjalan ainoa muinaislinna. Kätkö ei
sijaitse kallion päällä, joten kätköä haettaessa putoamisvaaraa ei
ole. Kätkölle ei kulje polkua, mutta maasto on melko
helppokulkuista havumetsää. GPS:n kuuluvuus voi kätköpaikalla olla
hiukan heikko.
EN: Historical castle hill "Havukkakallio". Cache is not located
on the top of the hill. There is no direct path leading to the
cache but the terrain is not too difficult to walk. GPS signal
might be weak on the spot.&a

Havukkakallion kaakkoislaidalla on havaittavissa joitakin
kivivallin jäännöksiä ja laella vähäisiä jälkiä mahdollisista
rakennuksista. Alueella tehdyissä kaivauksissa ei ole löydetty
esineitä, jotka mahdollistaisivat linnan rakennus- ja käyttöajan
tarkemman määrittämisen.
Tarinat kertovat että Havukkakallion luoteisella, jyrkkäreunaisella
kalliotasanteella olisi toimeenpantu mestauksia ja muita
rangaistuksia. Kallioon on sille kohdalle hakattu ristinmuotoinen
kuvio.

There are some hardly noticable ruins of stone walls on the
south-east side of the hill. The archeological diggings have not
revealed any objects that could have given any timeframe for the
usage of the place.
Stories tell that on the steep north-west cliff has been a place
for executions and other forms of punishment. There is a
cross-shaped carving on that spot.
