Park by the gate on the top of Thompson Pass. Walk up the dirt road and just keep going. Enjoy the beautiful view. This is the place the teenagers of Valdez go swimming and cliff jumping. If you really want a challenge keep walking up the ridge line. We found a weather station (we think) and a geodetic survey reference mark and remains of the old telegraph line.
The cache is a small medicine container covered in black duct tape. It contains a log and a few small items for trading. Bring your own pencil (I forgot)
