Geocache Description:

A 21 Stage Salute to the Green Circle Trail

This is a LOOOONG Multicache along the entire cycling route of the Green Circle Trail! The 21 stages are all fairly easy to find. The terrain, however, will traverse nearly 30 miles so a bicycle is a must if you plan on doing the entire cache in one day. We run this trail about once per month and can do it in about 3 1/2 hours. Placing the waypoints took us about 6 hours so please plan accordingly.

Take a look at our Green Circle Trail book mark list to find a multitude of other caches along the trail that will make the ride far more enjoyable and fruitful.

Trail maps and our contact information are located at the first waypoint. If you are planning on searching out this cache, let us know in advance so we are available by phone in case you run into any snags (if we are available, we would love to ride with you)! Also, be prepared with plenty of water and snacks for this great ride!

With the exception of the first and final caches, none of the waypoints are more than a few feet from the trail, nor are they on private property.

Most of all, have fun and be safe!

The 30.5 mile Green Circle is a hiking and biking trail that loops around the Stevens Point area. It meanders through forests, over wetlands, and along rivers, recalling the days of huge pineries, pioneer settlements, and the lore of the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers.

The Green Circle connects Stevens Point’s Bukolt, Zenoff, Pfiffner, Plover River and Iverson Parks, Plover’s Lake Pacawa Park, the Village of Whiting Park , the UW-Stevens Point Schmeeckle Reserve, and Izaak Walton League land.

The trail has 14 connecting segments. All urban residents are within 10 minutes of the trail system and yet, more than 80% of the Green Circle winds through secluded natural areas.
