Way back when on January 27, 2006, we found our first geocache. It happened to be GCPXPC Bridge-n-Tracks. We remember that day, it was an unusually warm January day, and that log can be found here: visit log.
That day was also not our first attempt for that cache. We had been out several times to try and find it. We didn't have a hand-held GPS unit, but we did have one of those DeLorme GPS units that was tethered to the laptop and the routing information was done on the laptop. Dad had that slung over his shoulder while trying to use the program on the laptop, to no avail. This is also where we learned that once you get into the area of ground zero, to just look around, because I then found it without the laptop. All in all, we did probably spend about a week to find our first ammo can cache.
That cache is now archived, but in a way it still lives on. Have fun caching!
A little about Little Bridge City Park
When we first moved into De Soto back in 1990, this city park wasn't much, but it was being worked on. A new bridge was built, a new shelter was built, and a naming contest was held. With the new bridge, somebody (I don't remember who now) thought of the new little bridge and won the contest for naming the park "Little Bridge City Park."
During the warmer months of the year, be sure to bring bug spray!
