*** The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates ***
The final is at the following coordinates: N 50° 42.3 __ __ W 096° 31.4 __ __.
At stage one, you will find a birdhouse that my 5-year-old ('bert') and I ('grover') built together. Look north. Painted on it are the remaining North coordinates on one side and the missing West coords on the other (check both sides).
The Final is a well-hidden larger Lock ‘N Lock container, with lots of room for trade items. Bring gloves.
Stage one is mostly kid-friendly, as the younger ones will absolutely adore this location (as long as they stay on the sandy areas). Go to the top of the hill for the best view. At stage two, please be VERY careful in amongst all the debris in the area.
UPDATE: The municipality is reporting the banks along the lakeshore are extremely unstable this year (2009 and again in 2010). Please be cautious if you venture near to the edges. In late July 2009, a 7-year-old was buried in a sand avalanche on the west side of the VB peninsula. Thankfully he was dug out. Please be careful.
2011 UPDATE: After the weather bomb in Oct 2010 and the high water levels expected all summer in 2011, the caution advisory has been extended.
2012 2013 2014 2015 UPDATE: Due to the rapidly increasing erosion all around the peninsula, the municipal ban on climbing the sand cliffs remains in effect. Please be cautious of undermined cliff edges and do not approach either stage from the water.
2016 UPDATE: The Municipality has erected signs on the east side of the RM near this cache. So no matter how tempting it might be to run down the sand cliffs towards the beach at stage one, please be reminded that it is illegal, dangerous, and environmentally detrimental to do so.
2020 UPDATE: The Municipality has built "stairs" at various access points to the water. Please use the stairs so as not to damage the fragile sand cliffs.
The cache should be winter-friendly most winters, unless we get some unusual snow drifts.
Please replace exactly as found, as teen muggles have been known to have late night drinking parties in and around the final.
Please don't reveal anything about what you find at the final stage (Stage 2) in your log entry.
This cache is in the non-restricted part of the Victoria Beach, so you will not have to pay for parking during the summer months. However parking will still be an issue since parking is forbidden on all the cottage roads near the first stage. Parking is allowed on Highway 504.
