The Hoary Marmot, also known a
the whistling marmot or the whistling pig, is the
worlds largest ground squirrel. It weighs in between 18 and 22
pounds. The critter pictured above was photographed in July of
2009, just 75 meters East of GZ for this cache. Since then, he and
his girlfriend have been frequently seen sunning themselves on the
road near GZ. To see them takes a little patience, because they
scurry off when cars approach. Just sit quietly for a few minutes
and they will return. Do they whistle? Don't know. Haven't heard
them do it...yet.
This cache is a cammo'd pill bottle, log only. BYOP (Bring your
