Hidden in a nice out-of-the way park in Hallam PA.
Located in Clayton Emig Park in Hallam Boro, York County. The park is open during daylight hours only. No night caching. Although it’s a small park, it has plenty of recreation opportunities including basketball, horseshoes, picnicking, playgrounds, dog walking trails and an old fashion swimming hole.
The cache is hidden at the northeast edge of the park. There are various trails leading from the parking lot; I recommend using the one that starts about 1/3 of the way down the hill to get to GZ and using the lower trail along Kreutz Creek for the return trip. The round trip will be approximately .4 miles. I’ve photographed deer, great blue heron, turkeys, ducks, geese and various small animals and birds in this park. So keep your eyes open, especially if you are there in the early morning or just before dark.
The cache has been moved approximately 190 feet south of the original coordinates at the Spring. It is now a nano in the woods, but hidden in an obvious location.
Wilson Spring is located along the hillside north of GZ. There are a couple of trails to it, so if you have time check it out.
Parking lots are available on Buttonwood Lane. From Route 462 (main road thru Hallam) turn south onto Friendship Ave. and west (right) onto Buttonwood Lane. Parking will be on your left at the bottom of the hill. Total distance from Rt 462 is less than 1 mile.
