RIP John Hughes is number 5 in my 80's Movie Cache series with a
John Hughes theme.
Sadly, John Hughes died on August 6, 2009. He will forever be
missed by a generation of fans. Anyone over the age of 30 has
probably seen most, if not all, of his iconic movies. Macaulay
Culkin, whom Hughes cast in the movie Home Alone, said:
"The world has lost not only a quintessential filmmaker whose
influence will be felt for generations, but a great and decent
man."
I could not agree more. I personally think that
this blog post might best describe the man that he was. Some of
his iconic movies include:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off | The Breakfast Club | Planes, Trains
& Automobiles | Vacation | Christmas Vacation | Pretty in Pink
| Some Kind of Wonderful | She's Having a Baby | The Great Outdoors
| Uncle Buck | Weird Science | Sixteen Candles | Mr. Mom | Home
Alone
NOTE: This is not a place John Hughes filmed a movie, it is just
a cache honoring him and his legacy.
HISTORY In the 1980's, John Hughes filmed most of his classic
teen movies right here in Chicago's North Shore area. The point of
this Movie Cache Series is to take to you some of the places his
movies were filmed.
