Geocache Description:

Park here on Hwy 3A: N 49 24.898 W 116 45.314. It's a cedar canopied pull out on the E side of the hwy.

Park and begin to scramble up the slope. It's a short steep climb, or you can walk up the dirt road a bit until it levels more to your liking. The goal is to locate an old "pack trail" that will be moss covered. It is pretty straight forward if you just head up the bank and keep climbing till you step onto it. Truly, simple direction. Follow this to the right or the S ish. Too difficult to get a satelite reading because of all the trees to give a second stage. Final is in the open.

I found this little treasure one day out cycling before the ferry traffic makes bike riding scary (for me). Then one day we set out to see where this road was going too and from. The trail is in very good shape except where the MOT took a chunk of wall away and left a cliff. I was quite pleased with my little piece of history that I don't know anything about and thought I would share it with you. The Waypoint is at the end of the "perfect" trail except you can pick it up here and there, if you dare, after the cliff if you scramble some more, but this seems to be the best portion of it so far. I wonder if you would record on line what you think and especially if you know any of the history that may pertain to this. The climb from the parking lot is maybe 100 feet. The descent is easier as you can follow the trail right past your car below and easily return to it.
