A traditional cache located at James Johnstone Regional Park, on the north shore of Kootenay Lake's west arm, is your destination. This cute little park sees little traffic when compared to it's bigger and busier cousin, Lakeside Park, located on the other side of the lake.
To get to this park, turn onto Johnstone Road, which can be found just northwest of the Big Orange Bridge on Highway 3A. Proceed along this scenic drive until you spot the small sign for the park on the left hand side. It is then a short, semi-steep hike down to the cache.
Enjoy the cache but be sure to also take in the view from the lakeshore. From here, there is a nice view of Nelson's downtown, lakefront, and the orange bridge. This cache would also be easy to access by boat.
There is a small first to find prize in this one.
