Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Collier Tunnel Rest Area. Might as well take a break and look for a cache while you are stopped.

I did not have a FTF prize when I hid this. PM me with your address and I will send something. My GPSr was +/- 24 feet when I took the reading for this cache. The Randolph Collier Tunnel caries US Highway 199 through the mountains in Del Norte County just south of the Oregon Border. It was named after State Senator Randolph Collier and built in 1963. The thirty-three-mile Smith River Scenic Byway traverses the spectacular Smith River Canyon as it winds eastward from Crescent City on the Pacific coast to the Oregon border.
