Geocache Description:

I knew Steve and Tony Galick.

They lived most of their lives on this land that is now a Nature Conservancy Preserve. They lived a hardscrabble life on this strip of land between Bald Mountain and Lake Champlain. They were talented individuals who had a reputation for fixing anything, mechanical, electrical or automotive. Originally they had to commute by boat but when the Champlain Canal was completed, they bought a steam shovel [really STEAM] and built a road to their farm. You will drive this road to get to the cache. Park at the gate at the end of the road.

They were the subject of an article in Yankee magazine in the 90s.

Caution, the road often floods in spring. Also, rattlesnakes have been seen very near the cache.

NOTE: there is a resident on the premises. Please visit only during daylight hours.
