Geocache Description:

This cache is decated to the authors of Sawmills to Sunfish because so many of my historical Onalaska caches were born from I just have to say THANK YOU for all you hard work in perserving History of the area I love

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the people who assisted us in completing this history
of Onalaska.
We are particularly indebted to Irene Radcliffe and Carlos Abraham, each of whom spent
countless hours sharing their exceptional abilities with us. Their cooperation, suggestions, patience
and friendship have been invaluable to us.
The constant encouragement, support and assistance of Maggie and Phil Phelps has made this
challenge more enjoyable as they helped us make many decisions and shared our feelings of suc-
cess as well as frustrations. We are grateful to each of them.
Aunt Mary and Uncle Jerry Dolbier encouraged us to start this project over three years ago.
They have made many contacts and assisted us in many ways since that time.
Crystal Peterson worked on the first promotional displays and typed many of the family stories.
Typing was also done by Penne Saddler, Kay Bjorge, Nancy Miller Burgett and Sharon Michalski.
Proof reading was done by Darlene Kleven and Berniece Johnson. Connie Kjos did art work on
the inside cover and assisted with research. Roger Bjorge assisted us with printing information
and material. A special thank you to each one.
We greatly appreciate the promotional assistance given to us by the Skogen family. It has been
most helpful.
The interest, encouragement, advice and assistance we received from Ed Hill and the staff at
the Area Research Center at UW-L has been very important to us, and we thank them.
To all the people whom we interviewed and who shared their photographs and materials with
us, we say "thank you." We hope you enjoy satisfaction in knowing that you played an important
part in preserving the history of your hometown.
