The info and links are for education purposes and fun. The
cache is on the Wisconsin D.N.R. Glacial Drumlin
Trail. Here is a great trail map.
There are 22 state series caches on a relatively short stretch of
trail here. The other 28 state series caches are located on the
Bugline Recreational Trail between Menomonee Falls to Merton.
The state cache series has been designed to be "green"--it's
endorsed by Mr. Greenthumb. You get exercise, enjoy nature,
conserve gas and geocache even in the winter.
The Glacial Drumlin Trail is open to
bikers, walkers, joggers and roller bladers. It's well paved and
it's also plowed in the winter time. HOWEVER, adult bikers (ages
16+) are REQUIRED to purchase a state trail bike pass BEFORE riding
on the trail. Walkers, joggers and children on bikes DO NOT NEED a
trail pass. The state trail bike pass is available as a daily or
yearly pass. The 2010 rate: Yearly Pass $20 and Daily Pass
$4. The pass is good for any state trail.

The Geocache Notification Form has
been submitted and approved by Paul Sangren of the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources at Lapham Peak State Park. He
manages this eastern section of the Glacial Drumlin Trail. FYI to
geocachers: caches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resource managed lands require permission. Should you ever wish to
hide a cache on DNR property you need to fill out the proper
form and submit it the local DNR land manager. If the placement
is approved, you can then place the cache container and
request
publication.
