Geocache Description:

Text Box:

The name of this hide is due to the fact that when I was scouting this area to place a new hide of my own I was surprised to find a lost and undocumented one already here. Read the story:

Log Date: 01/09/10 - sipafz - Jack for GC1A46G Puppy Luv - Located in Clinton, Iowa. To say that this was an unconventional find is an understatement! I live in Saukville, Wisconsin which is 155 miles to the north-east of Clinton, Iowa. I have never been to Iowaand have not signed the log for this cache "in Iowa", but will still take credit for this find. Here is the story: As my brother and I had lunch today in Port Washington, Wisconsin, I looked out the restaurant window and saw a monument made out of a huge propeller in the harbor marina. I said "let's walk over and check out that monument for a possible geocache hide". So we walk over and start looking around. I put my hand inside some of the support structure and what do I find? Your geocache that had been muggled last April named Puppy Luv GC1A46G. I kid you not! Inside, I found the log sheet, a quarter, a pen and two puppy micro caches. At the time I was very confused as to why this cache was there. Since I knew the area and have been very active caching this winter I knew that something was not right. I did not know all the details so I signed the log, replaced the cache and headed home to search out the answers to my many questions. This is what I have surmised: Two non geocaches by the names of Stacy and Billy must have inadvertently found the cache in Clinton, misunderstood how the puppy cache was intended to work and took the whole container to Port Washington and hid where I found it 8 months later. They signed the log on 4/11/09, but I see that they never logged anything online. I have included some photos to validate my story. One picture shows the area where the cache was found and the next shows the cache and contents including the log which should look familiar. As mentioned the cache had two stray pups that my daughter CC and I will adopt. I will be naming mine Sassy after the dog that I had when I was a kid. I left “Sassy” at the sight where I found you cache. CC is still undecided as to the name for her pup, but I'm sure she will decide soon. Once our Puppy Luv Caches are released I will drop another note to let you know. I told you that this was an unconventional find! Jack

What a whacky story. Just goes to show that you never know what you will find until you look or like in this case - reach. Enjoy – Jack

Congratulations to Lobsters9494 for the FTF!
