Welcome to Lime Kiln Park in the city of
Grafton. Park hours are 6:00am to 10:00pm daily.
This is a tricky hide that is not for
everyone. Leave the young kids and grandma at home (grandma, please
take no offense)! Also, know your own limitations! Seriously, to
get to this hide you will have to ascend / descend some difficult
terrain. There is
nothing wrong will just walking away sometimes!
If you’re up for it, then bring your
“A” game and make your way to the south quarry bottom.
On the north side of the quarry, follow the old road / trail. Be
patient and follow the trail to the bench where there is an opening
to the quarry face, unless you like to bushwhack. This animal trail
will take you to the rock face and a “natural
staircase” Follow the “stairs” up about half way
to a little plateau. You are looking for a spice jar that is twice
the length of a standard micro. Please take notice of how it is
wedged in before removing and put back exactly as found! Good Luck,
Watch Your Footing and Be Careful! Jack
P.S. Be aware that there is an archery range
in the area. While the cache is not behind the targets it would be
a good idea to come back another time if the range is in use. Also,
periodically the police may still use the area for target practice.
They post a flag at the top of the quarry if it is in use.
Congratulations to Analee for FTF!
12/31/10 - This cache is so easy that your Grandmother can find
it! Congratulations to Redwingerr for being the first Grandmother
to log this cache as found!
