Our first cache, placed alongside Morningside Creek. Once, a
beautiful, quiet stream, one of the last trout streams in Toronto.

The large stormwater outfalls just north of here empty rainwater
and meltwater from the adjacent Malvern neighbourhood into
Morningside Creek. Pollution from runoff and the water that enters
the creek during and after rainstorms have had a drastic effect -
erosion, siltation, destruction of habitat. Development north of
Finch Ave has created even further stress.
Work has been done to rehabilitate Morningside Creek, but from
its source in Markham to where it empties into the Rouge in the
Zoo, it will never be the same idyllic stream.
Enjoy the hunt. Please, stay away when the water is high. You
will be challenged if the snow is deep.

Feb 14/10: A little more than a week ago, we achieved a FTF on a
GPA (Greater Pickering Area) cache less than an hour after its
publication, right place, right time - GC23K0K White Pine. The
owner of that cache was DoolinBanjos, who discovered this cache (a
first FTF!) less than an hour after publication. Congratulations,
Paul had you in the pool. Must be Karma.
