In 1921 Robert Pearman purchased the first tract of what would
eventually become a 225 acre family farming operation. Robert and
his wife Anna Belle raised fourteen children while deriving income
from traditional farming practices and fallen trees in the forest
during the depression and beyond.
In 2000 an effort to protect this pristine property was begun by
LaRue Fiscal Court. The acquisition was made possible by a grant
provided by the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund for the
preservation, education and enjoyment of citizens of The
Commonwealth.
The Pearman Family farmhouse
There are three walking trails at the Pearman Farm. The mail trail
is gravel with benches along the way, and a very nice place for an
afternoon walk.
This cache is a small plastic container located on a hill
overlooking the bridge and small ampitheater. It is along the
Eastern Primitive Trail.
The park is open sunrise to sunset. Parking at N37 34.314 W085
42.373. Located on Highway 1794 (Leafdale Road) off Highway 31E.
