Thanks to all the people who voted for this
cache and made it the Cache of the Month for March, 2010! The
Peacemakers are honored to be a part of such a prestigious award
and truly appreciate the support that the caching community has
shown us. We extend our wishes of Peace and Happy Caching to
all!
This is the
Series Final of the Peace Sign Series. Please use stealth when
hunting and obey all posted signs. The cache final is not meant to
be a difficult find. No digging or bushwhacking is necessary or
will be tolerated.
DO NOT trample any of the
foliage and stay on the paths. The longevity of this cache final
location depends on the responsible actions of geocachers during
the hunt. Permission has been granted for the placement of this
cache on the property, so please treat the area with the utmost
respect.
There are 42 puzzle caches involved in the making of this
Series. The
puzzle icons for the Series Puzzles are located in the middle
of Lake Washington, to the East. (Just look for the Peace Sign in
the middle of the water.) In order to find the Final of this
Series, represented by this page, you must find the finals for a
randomly selected 21 of those 42 puzzle caches and sign the log on
those 21 cache logs. On those logs you will find a number. These
numbers are part of the solution for the Final of the Series, so
don't forget to WRITE THEM
DOWN!
If the puzzle that you have solved and found is not one of the
selected 21 caches that contain the "special" numbers, the log will
note that you have not found one of the selected 21 and you should
try another one.
Once you have all 21 of the special numbers written down, you
will need to use the formula below to figure out the location of
the Series Final. Please be sure to use the geochecker when you
think you have the solution. There is information on the successful
geochecker page that you will need to use when you go after the
Final. Any "found" logs on this page without the required 21 puzzle
logs signed will be deleted. No
exceptions!
The Peace Sign
Series was created by 14 local geocachers (known as the
Peacemakers) for the purpose of providing an entertaining
and fun challenge for all geocachers alike. The puzzles are not too
difficult and can be solved within a family atmosphere by kids and
adults. It is a Series made to commemorate GeoWoodstock VIII and
should last well beyond the event.
There is a
special trackable item (TB2JBWT)
that was created just for this Series, which has been launched upon
publication of the Series. It will be handed, in person, to the FTF
of this Series Final by a member of the Peacemakers. This item
contains many trackables on it and will be available for
discoveries by any and all who see it. It needs to stay in the
Seattle area for the months leading up to GeoWoodstock VIII. After
the weekend of GeoWoodstock, the item will be sent out into the
world to travel and spread a message of Peace. It is not intended
to be left in any cache at any time, and as such will be passed
from cacher to cacher, in person. We hope you are fortunate enough
to come across this trackable and embrace it's
glory.
After you have collected all 21 of the
special numbers, you need to add them all up. You will end up with
a 5 digit number.
Let this number equal A B C D
E.
To find
the final cache of the Series, the formula
is:
N47
(A-C)(A+D).(C+D-A)(E-B)(B+1) W122
(A-B)E.(B-C)(C+D)(A+B)
For the legal FTF of the
Series Final, along with the PEACE SIGN SERIES TRACKABLE (as
mentioned above), there is also your choice of one of an assortment
of unactivated geocoins. (This assortment of unactivated geocoins
is not in the cache, but will be available to the FTF when you are
awarded the PEACE SIGN SERIES TRACKABLE.) If there is more than one
finder as FTF, then you will have to decide who gets the goodies
before they are awarded. There will also be included in the
original contents of the cache, ONE Golden
Ticket good for a very special geocoin, supplied
by Moun10Bike. This will be for the legal FTF also! Throughout the
following months prior to GeoWoodstock VIII, we will occasionally
drop unactivated coins of different types into the final to be
picked up by new
finders.
We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to a group of
people who were instrumental in the making and successful
publication of this
Series.
They

CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. TUSK AND _SHADDOW_ FOR THEIR
HARD-EARNED FTF! YOU BOTH ARE KINGS OF THE PEACE SIGN SERIES! GREAT
JOB!
There will be a
special FTF awards party occuring on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at
1:00PM at Woodland Park in Kirkland. Bring your camera and some
munchies and enjoy the fun with some of your fellow geocachers. The
street address is NE 100th Street and 126th Ave NE. (Or for you
geoaddicts: N47 41.303 W122 10.397.) There is a cache nearby
(GCWBPE) for those who want to grab a smiley too. This is not an
official Geocaching.com event, just a party to celebrate the first
three finders of the PEACE SIGN SERIES! Any and all are
invited.
