Geocache Description:

The fortress of Vázsonyko was mentioned first in 1469 and soon it was given to Kinizsi Pál by King Mátyás. Kinizsi was a famous warlord in hungarian history, he was the leader of King Mátyás’s Black Army.
The fortress has a diversed history and though it wasn’t destroyed, after the Rákóczi-war of freedom (1711) it lost it’s importance.

Not far from the fortress, there are the ruins of the St.Paul monastery, which was founded by Kinizsi Pál in 1483. The monastery was built in late-gothic style.
Kinizsi died at the battle of Szendro, against the turks. His grave can be seen in the monastery.

You can park your car at N46°59.114" E017°41.562" and can walk to the monastery through the graveyard. The cache is in the wall.
