Geocache Description:

One of the most played (some would say overplayed) classic rock songs of all time was written right here in Eau Claire, likely in this hotel, by Bob Seger. The song is "Turn the Page" and is a song written by Seger here in 1972, The song was originally released by in 1973 on his "Back in '72" album, but did not make much of an impact. Later, Seger recorded the famous "Live Bullet" album and "Turn The Page" was one of the many highlights of that great album.

Since then, "Turn The Page" has become a staple of Classic Rock, and is played almost daily on many Classic Rock stations.

Seger revealed at a concert at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee performed November 16, 2006 that the song was written in Eau Claire. Here is a link to the concert review for that show where this small factoid is mentioned: http://www.concertlivewire.com/seger.htm)

Turn The Page

By Bob Seger

Out there in the spotlight, you’re a million miles away
Every ounce of energy you try to give away
As your sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play

Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed
And the echoes from the amplifiers ringing in your head
You smoke the day’s last cigarette
Remembering what she said…

Here I am, on the road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page…
