The cache is a small black lock and lock on a trail near the downtown that is being upgraded with a bridge and walkways.
The cache is a chain letter style cache that was started by jubbly&mazzly to generate new cache's on the North Island. The first to find prize is a ready to place cache. I'm hoping that the FTF will continue the trend by placing this cache with a new cache for the next FTF. If the next cache is called "Cache it Forward 3" and so on we will see a large number of new caches showing up in our community.
The trailhead is located at the end of Shelly Crescent where parking is available. The trail is stroller friendly from this point by the Guide/Scout Hall until the playground area which is behind the community hall and ball diamond. When you head up the hill to hike the loop the trail becomes more rugged and boggy depending on recent weather. The trail is being upgraded and walkways have been put in over the worst areas.
There is also trail access to the Broughton Regional Campsite that connects at the far side of the loop.
Co-ordinates were a bit bouncy due to tree cover but the hint will give away the location if you choose to use it.
