Geocache Description:

This cache is located on Maryland Road.

Perhaps this cache should be called Eagle Tree Memorial Cache. It is located in a small bushy area around the base of a cottonwood tree. The developer was obliged to leave the area undeveloped because the tree has an eagle's nest in it. I often used to see one or two eagles sitting in the branches above the nest or in the nest. However, now the eagles are seldom seen and the nest appears to be falling into disrepair. Apparently the eagles have not produced young for a number of years. It isn’t known if they were too old or if the development all around the tree disturbed the pair too much. The cache is a cammoed pill bottle approx. 3” long. It contains a logbook and a tiny pencil. You might want to bring your own just in case the pencil breaks, as there is no sharpener. This is a high muggle area as the cache is located a short distance from the road.
