Geocache Description:

You are seeking a camo container. Please replace with the same orientation as you found it.

The end of the CA&E railroad and its predecessors was the beginning of the Prairie Path. Beyond the easy to see buildings, observant users of the many miles of crushed limestone path can still see evidence of the railroad. Platforms, signal bases, ties, and other objects still exist. This cache is in an area that highlights examples of objects left behind after the rail was torn up and salvaged. Anyone with an interest in the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin railroad can see and ride a few existing trolleys (properly Interurbans) at the Fox River Trolley Museum http://www.foxtrolley.org/ Their collection includes CA&E #20, a car that was built in 1902 and served the railroad every day of its 55 year existence that ended abruptly on July 3, 1957.
