Geocache Description:

BCGA's 2010 Blitz Wrap Up & Awards Event

Lower Mainland

The BCGA's sixth annual cache Blitz runs May 1 - August 1, 2010

What is the Blitz?

The BCGA Cache Blitz is a way to dust off the winter cobwebs and get out caching. Between May 2nd and August 1st, the BCGA is encouraging people to hide and seek caches. The Blitz will culminate with several events scheduled across the province in early June where you can meet local cachers and discuss some of those great new caches you visited.

Do I need to be a BCGA member?

The cache Blitz is open to ALL geocachers in BC, you do not need to be a registered BCGA Member... but if you're not... Why not? Membership is free and you will be supporting the organization that represents and supports goecachers in BC. Signing up on the BCGA website is not equivalent to being a member. you must submit a membership form. Please click here to learn more about BCGA membership.

Although the BCGA will be supplying several prizes, we depend heavily on the support of the geocaching public. Prize donations are greatly appreciated. Please contact your local representative if you plan on bringing a prize to your local event.

Catagories for this years Blitz include

Camouflage / Disguise, Innovation, Hike / View / Scenery, Educational Spot / Environmental Awareness, Cache Page Creativity, Puzzle Cache, Night Cache, Series and Overall.

Prizes will be awarded at the events for the best caches overall.

We wish to thank our generous sponsors for their support:

A FEW WORDS FROM katcogo:

Parking is available on/off Nelson Ave.

Join us for a bit of fun and find out who wins and who doesn’t (no one is a loser in the Blitz!)

Theme: It’s a Wrap

In the spirit of the Blitz, we will have a small activity for you to wrap your head around. What will it be? Sorry, it’s under wraps.

Don’t wrap yourself in a wet blanket – come and have some fun!

And of course – the awards!

If you haven’t voted yet, August 1 is the voting deadline.

If you come by and talk to the right people – the cache owners - you may be able to get a small hint or two on some particularly pesky puzzles or tricky hides.

Please bring some ready to eat “wrap” finger food to share – be creative and expand your thinking on this. ie chocolate chips wrapped in cookie dough, peanut butter wrapped in bread – even good intentions wrapped in “I couldn’t come up with anything”, etc. Please provide a note explaining your wrap.

We will bring beverages wrapped in plastic bottles and will be providing napkins to wrap around your dirty fingers, and plates to hold all your wrapped food.

As there is a charge to rent this lovely spot we will be collecting donations to cover costs. Thank-you.

BCGA is providing award prizes donated from its sponsors - If you have donations for draw prizes please contact katcogo with the details.

Note to families – there is a kids wading pool (fenced in) and a cool playground right at the picnic shelter.

Note to others – we are informed that the City of Coquitlam Parks have been designated entirely non-smoking. We are just a short way from the Brunette Ave sidewalk for those still afflicted.
