Geocache Description:

"Lady Victory" is a one-ton, 12-foot bronze sculpture on a 5-foot granite pedestal which is the center point of the New Jersey World War II memorial across from the N.J. State House.

Could be a park and dash after hours, could be a lunchtime cache (if you work in downtown Trenton).

Not being Jersey born and bred, I still take a great deal of pride in my adopted state. And now that I actually WORK for the State, I take a great deal of pride in the beauty of downtown Trenton.

This cache is located in an area of much activity -- West State Street is teeming with activity during the day -- workers on lunch breaks, school kids on field trips. There is so much to do!

This cache is placed within the confines of one of the newest attractions. Take some time to read the panels, or just sit awhile and people watch.

An excellent history of the monument, which was formally dedicated in Nov. 2008, can be found here: (visit link)

Two time capsules are buried at the site to be opened in 2145, the 200th anniversary of the end of the war.

After hours, park right on the street (there are meters all along West State). During the day, a parking spot might be tough, but there are lots of side streets.

Bring a pen -- no room for anything except the log.
