You are looking for a small camoed plastic jar.
This cache is on a small island that is a short paddle from the launch site near the parking coords given in the waypoint. (There is also a nice little cache right near the launch site that you might want to do before you hit the water.) The island has lots of nice big pine trees and a few neat snags. There is a small campfire ring on the island, so there are apparently muggles at times. All we encountered on the hot, muggy day we placed it were mosquitoes.
Watch your footing, as it's a short climb onto land from the water and there is a large hole more toward the middle of the island (2 by 3 feet and about 2 1/2 feet deep). The hole is very visible, so it shouldn't be a problem if you look where you're going instead of keeping your eyes on your GPS!
If you have some extra time, you can canoe farther north up the lake or go back south and west of the launch point and continue under the bridge to canoe as far as you like toward Hodag Beach.
CONGRATS TO MATHMAN AND WOODCARVERDAN ON THEIR CO-FTF! They made it a much more exciting adventure than we ever thought it could be!! Glad they're both safe and sound!
Updated October 24, 2011
We checked on the cache today and discovered it was missing. We replaced it - Please be sure to replace the new one as found so it doesn't disapppear into the water! Thanks.
Update August 30, 2018
The last cacher let us know he found the cache, but it needed some help, as its host had eaten it. We placed a new cache in a new spot, so it's good to go again.
