To find this cache and earn a smiley, put on your hiking shoes, grab a walking stick, and take a short trek through an easy-to-reach and beautiful wooded area near Slippery Rock Creek.
This cache is located on a trail that runs through an awesome natural area next to a small tributary that feeds into the much larger Slippery Rock Creek. The hiding spot is sure to test your level of adventure and exercise your geosenses!
NOTE:
The cache is NOT accessible from the current Route 422 or from the graveyard next to the church above the cache site.
The posted “No Parking/Tresspassing” restrictions on the East side of the bridge across Slippery Rock Creek on old Route 422 are STRICTLY ENFORCED. Park ONLY on the West side of the bridge.
The trail leading to the cache can be accessed from several entry spots along old Route 422 that kayakers use down the hill from the campground entrance. There is a small, picturesque waterfall near the end of the trail, so bring a camera and post your pic! The trail is mostly level, but it also has some spots that are rocky, narrow, and briefly steep. Terrain and Difficulty ratings may be adjusted based on posted log entries.
The container is jar-sized and is camo-painted with a screw-on lid. It contains typical SWAG with an eye-opening FTF prize! PLEASE reseal the log bag and the container lid securely before carefully and completely rehiding the cache to make it “muggle-proof” again and safe for future finders.
