Geocache Description:

A geocache to celebrate our living heros...all the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and military Veterans from all countries but especially those from NATO.

It seems that today it is very hard to find REAL heroes.

But in fact, they are all around us and MANY are alive today.

Who are these heroes? Our military Veterans!

The men and women who have sacrificed a bit of their own freedoms and time away from their own loving families and friends to protect the freedom and liberty that so often take for granted. These brave men and women voluntarily place their lives in danger so that we can live in peace.

Who, you ask, are these veterans? It could be the old man on the corner who bakes your bread. The middle-aged woman driving the bus taking you to work. It could be the men picking up the garbage in front of your house. Maybe it is the person sitting next to you on the train, or in the doctors waiting room. They are literally all around us and many today will still stand up to protect you when trouble arises....even though the no longer serve in their military.

This cache and this place is not a memorial or celebration of war. This cache is a memorial to, and celebration of, those men and women who willingly chose to defend the people of their country and all the other people of world.

This is a celebration of all the GOOD that our military and veterans do.

When earthquakes flatten a city....our Veterans were there to help the injured and homeless. When the rivers overflow their banks and our basements fill with water....our Veterans were there building sandbag walls and helping us empty the flooded house.

Where ever there was a need for help...anywhere in the world...our Veterans were there. American, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Austrian, Czech, Hungarian, Russian, Mexican,Canadian, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Australian, etc...............

So while you are visiting this cache, regardless of your opinions about the military or war in general, please think of these men and women and the next time you see someone that you know is a Veteran...walk up to them...shake their hand....and say....THANK YOU! It was these veterans that protected your rights and freedoms to have whenever opinions you wish to have.
