How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The cache is located high above the Kern River - at an apx. altitude of 2600ft.The terrain can be somewhat slippery, but not dangerous. It's at a rocky outcropping that affords one a scenic view of the Kern River.
Within the cache are mostly items suited for the outdoors types. Not only are they nice to have, but can help you out if need be. Also, inside is a CD of a little-known band whose members are from Los Angeles and Bakersfield. We hope you enjoy them.
We should also warn you that you should be on the lookout for mountain lions. The area seems well suited for them - many rocks to hide a den. While we were placing the cache, we found tracks on our way. Don't worry, the spot where the cache is, is not a den. Also, as with any rocky area, be wary of snakes sunning themselves.
