Geocache Description:

**THE COORDINATES LISTED ARE NOT TO THE CACHE, BUT TO THE CIPHER WHEEL THAT WILL SOLVE THE CODE AND GIVE COORDS TO THE FINAL**

**PLEASE FOLLOW THE PARK HOURS OF 4AM-10:30PM**

The Cypher Wheel, sometimes called the Cipher Wheel or Cipher Disk, was invented by Leon Battista Alberti (February 14, 1404 – April 25, 1472) an Italian author, artist, architect, poet, linguist, philosopher, and cryptographer.

This cache encompasses some of my very favorite puzzle caches, mainly the "cipher" style cache. The combination for the container holding the cipher wheel are provided by a chirp (wireless beacon transmitter). A compatible GPSr (Dakota 20, GPSMAP 62s/st, GPSMAP 78s/sc, Oregon 400c/i/t, Oregon 450/t, Oregon 550/t) with the latest software is required to receive the coordinates.

In order to get the coordinates to the final cache you must solve the 3 puzzles listed below. Each puzzle will give you infomation that you will need to decode with the cipher wheel.

Once you have the puzzles solved and have the information you need (I suggest printing it off) head to coords provided in the listing. Once you get close to GZ (roughly 20-30ft ) your chirp enabled device should notify you with the combination to the lock that has been placed on the container holding the cipher wheel.

Once you have solved the cipher wheel codes and have the final coords, please place the cipher wheel back in it's container and lock it back up.

***I have added a link on how to use the Cipher Wheel.***

Cipher Wheel instructions

****IMPORTANT**** There are a couple of numbers on the outer ring of the wheel that look a lot like each other. Please take a little extra time and make sure you write down the correct number.

PUZZLE #2

***Once you figure out the puzzle below, you will use the letter {N} on the cipher wheel to decode it***

PUZZLE #3

( Set the cipher wheel to {G} )

**For this puzzle you will have a number/letter to the left of the puzzle. Using the cipher wheel, the numbers/letters to the left of the puzzle will give you the position for the coordinate. The puzzle to the right will give you the true coordinate for that position.**

For example..if the number in the ( ) to the left of the puzzle is a "Z" then using the cipher wheel (set at position lisited above) , this might come out to be a "2". This will tell you that once you solve the puzzle to the right, that the number you get will be the 2nd digit of the coordinate. So if the puzzle has an answer of 7, you know the 2nd coordinate will be 7.

A HUGE thanks goes out to Mark (CF_syngyn) for providing the cipher wheel and to Frank (dazedandconfused) for creating the container the cipher wheel is in. If you run into these 2 cachers after doing this cache, please thank them for their contributions!!
