Bypassing the tennis Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

ratcliffe: Unfortunately, on a maintenance visit this evening, I found the cache missing again, for I think the 5th time. Also, the cache location is right in the middle of a disgusting rubbish tip caused by the "travellers" camp nearby which is a constant scourge and blight on the city of Leicester. I am left with no option on this one but to archive the cache, which is a shame as it was about my busiest one. Thanks to everyone who visited.

Geocache Description:

This is a cache made possible by the building of the Leicester Western Bypass. Located on the old Gorse Hill road from Leicester to Anstey.

The cache is located in the vicinity of Gynsill Lawn Tennis Club, near to a now closed piece of road which used to connect Anstey Lane to the Beaumont Leys area. Now disused apart from access to a couple of houses and the tennis club, there is also a bridge under the Bypass which is well lit, and creates a footpath between the two areas.
There is parking almost right next to the cache, so this can be done as a Cache and Dash, if you leave the A46 Leicester Western Bypass at the nearby junction. It can be accessed from both directions on the bypass.
