Geocache Description:

A cache just off the Ice Age Trail between Rosnos Meadow area and the Woodland Trail on the East Bluff of Devil's Lake.

This cache is placed during the 100th Anniversary Year for Devil's Lake State Park. We hope you take time to discover some of the the beauty of this Park, and join in Devil's Lake's 100th Anniversary Celebrations

The Ice Age National Scenic Trail has been a work in progress in Wisconsin for the past 50+ years. When completed it will be a 1000 mile trail along the terminal moraine of Wisconsin's last glacier from Green Bay near Sturgeon Bay to the St Croix River and Interstate State Park, on the Minn/Wisc border.

This cache is located along a segment of the Ice Age trail built by a group of volunteers called the Mobile Skills Crew in 2004-2005. It is a wonderful secluded, wooded segment with a small stream, rugged rock cliff and erratic boulders, connecting the Ice Age Trail across the Wisconsin River through the Riverland Conservancy, to the Uplands Woods Trail of Devil's Lake State Park.

The cache can be accessed from a small parking lot along the South Shore Road, with a mostly gradual uphill climb to GZ, or for a longer hike, begin at the Steinke Basin Parking lot on county DL, northeast of the Park. Either way you will be treated to an area of the Devil's Lake that does not see a lot of hikers.
