Geocache Description:

Text Box:

This cache is hidden at Veterans Memorial Park in the Village of Grafton. I have visited this spot a few times during the last couple of months looking for just the right place for another urban cache. My goal was to place a cache that attracts people to this memorial while keeping the hide concealed in a tasteful manner. This hide is available in winter, winter friendly and can be hunted during Park hours of 6:00am to 10:00pm. Muggles and traffic are heavy all the time so be patient!

After finding the cache, sign the log and tightly roll small enough to insert log into cap and then the cap into the tube. Please do not stuff the log into the tube and jam the cap on. It will wreck the log and make it difficult for the next cacher to remove. Carefully replace as found - Thank you!

Once your done with the cache, travel 25 yards south of ground zero and marvel at this classic example of American Engineering and Manufacturing that helped the Allied Forces win World War II. This 75mm Pack Howitzer was built in 1941 which was the same year that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor (December 7, 1941) and shortly there after Nazi Germany declared war on the United States. 2 1/2 years would pass before the United States, Great Brittan and other Allied Forces would launch an offensive against the Axis Powers. June 6th 1944, “D Day” marked the beginning of this offensive as thousands of Allied Troops stormed the beaches of Normandy while the Airborne dropped behind enemy lines along the French countryside. Please take a moment and pay gratitude to all that have served and those who gave their lives for this country and the freedoms it provides to all.

Congratulations to furryhermit for the First To Find!
