Geocache Description:

A solvable-on-site cache: all the info you will need to get the final coordinates will be at the posted coordinates.

Nope – this is not a cache about what’s left in the refrigerator, but instead what’s left of one of the old dams that used to be on the Willow River not far from here. Located in Willow River State Park (be sure to have a daily or yearly park pass), the coordinates will bring you to a nice overlook area – more specifically, to a piece of old equipment saved from a dam that was used to harness the river for hydroelectric power.

Locate the manufacturer of the equipment – J. Murray Mfg. Co. Just above this name will be a part number (which starts with the letter C) – this is the number you will use to get the final coordinates for the cache.

The FINAL coordinates are:

N45 01.046
W092 40.XXX

Where XXX equals the part number (it’s three digits), plus 187

Be sure to check out the view from the overlook and the other dam equipment that’s here before heading to the final. Container is a regular size plastic jar. There are a couple of game trails that head into the woods near the cache that should make the bushwhacking fairly minimal. Enjoy the area!

05.28.12 Update: This cache proved much more difficult that planned, so have placed a regular-size container here now in a more easily-identified spot. Should be alot easier now. Have fun!
