Geocache Description:

Cache is in a small regional park, 'Sandy Pool', beside the Cowichan river. The cache, a well camouflaged, small PB jar, is in the base of one of a pair of trees. Lots of parking at the park entrance with a short walk down the road to the river. Take care with the very young cachers when near the river.
I hope that you'll take the time to check out the nearby Yew tree located about 30 metres WSW of the cache by the small beach at N 48 45.44 W 123 50.145.

PACIFIC (WESTERN) YEW (Taxus brevifolia)
Pacific yew is found from southern tip of Alaska to California and as far east as Alberta primarily at low to mid elevations. On the northern coast of BC and Alaska it is generally restricted to within a few kms of the coast.
This cache is near an incredible Yew tree that is carrying an amazing load of a variety of mosses. The effect is ethereal and well worth the visit. In this small park you will also find some wonderful examples of huge Maple Trees as well as fir, cedar, spruce and alder. A great place to teach the kids to identify many species of trees and ground cover such as salal, sword fern, etc. that inhabit this neck of the woods. There is a wonderful circular tral that you can follow around the park.
