Geocache Description:

A tribute to days gone by, and new growth for Clinton.

For years, the Clinton Country Club straddled Harrison Drive and has been a mainstay in the community since 1908. Many factors, including the recent economy, has brought significant changes at this location. Ashford University, a progressive and quickly growing school of higher education, recently acquired this property to expand their local campus. While some are sad to see CCC go, it is a sign of progress and potential growth for the Clinton community. This caches honors the memory of what was here, and what is to come.

This cache location overlooks what used to be the 8th and 9th fairways at the Clinton Country Club. The #8 teebox and the #9 green are just to your left. To your right, is the new soccer/football complex that Ashford University built. Oh my, how things have changed...

While this cache is located on a public, city road, you will need to use some stealth to find this cache, as I've noticed the Ashford security personnel are "always watching you". (Update 5/5/11: I had a talk with the guard on duty to explain what is going on here, and after understanding, the guard said they would let the rest of the gang know, to keep them informed.)

PLEASE NOTE: The container is NOT in the bush!! The bush is private property!! Please take note of your surroundings and observe what object is obviously "city property".
