The trees in this area are the remnants of what it looked like 100 years or more ago. The farmers had trees on most of their field borders. The reason they had trees on their fence lines was that it helped keep wind erosion down. The livestock had protection from the sun and wind. The birds and wildlife had a place to hide and get out of harsh elements in the winter. And last but not least, the farmer had a supply of wood for heating and cooking. They also used some for fence posts. In modern times most of the trees have been cut down and now they have a little bit more land to farm.
You will be looking for a small coffee container filled with a log, pencil, some small trinkets for trading and a travel bug. It should be an easy PnG because it isn’t off the road very far. There are some thorns to contend with if you look in the wrong place.
