Geocache Description:

!!THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!

This cache is the "encore" hide in the "Room 2 Roam" cache series, and was the inspiration in highlighting these GHRAs in Fond du Lac County. You will need to find the multi-cache, "Room 2 Roam - Finale" (GC2WCJN) to get the coordinates for this hide.

The Panzer Glacial Habitat Restoration Area is a 102 acre parcel of WDNR land, managed for the production of waterfowl, wild pheasant, and non-game songbirds.
In an era of ever increasing rural development and disappearing farmland and wetland, these areas are critical for the feeding, nesting, and overall survival of birds and other wildlife.

This is one of the longer walks in the series and most of the trek is in State Natural Area land, where you will see a nice trail heading west from the posted coordinates, which is the parking area off of County Y. Cache placements are NOT allowed in SNAs, but foot traffic is. Also, do not try to "shortcut" the walk from the south, as you would be trespassing on private property!

This is a DAYTIME ONLY CACHE!! Attempting this at night would be extremely hazardous, as you will be skirting the Niagara Escarpment and several abandoned quarries!

Inside the ziplock that contains the log book are slips of paper with an additional Waypoint on them. It highlights the Eagle's Nest Point, which was used as a signal area for Native Americans many years ago. The indentation east of the printed coordinates, on the escarpment edge, is where the fires were built and used. Please do not step in the pit area! It is just NE of the anchor post, between the cedar trees.

You will also see 2 red highlighted areas on the Eagles Nest Point rock, some glacial scratches, and some manmade grooves.

Enjoy this last trek and watch for wildlife.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the DNR Office in Oshkosh.

And HideNseeker1 with an encore FTF!
