How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This multi cache is hidden at the Heart Lake Rearing Station Wildlife Area. This is a 70 acre parcel owned by the WDNR and is a public hunting grounds area. Please note fishing is prohibited in this area because the WDNR use this rearing station site for fish spawning purposes. Keep a watchful eye out for the many species of wildlife using this area, I did see a fawn Whitetail Deer with spots and a pair of Wood Ducks when I was in the area hiding these caches.
This cache is a two part multi, WP1 will give you a set of numbers to enter into the formula below to get to the coordinates of the final at WP2. This final at WP2 will give you another set of numbers you will need to find my second cache hidden in this wildlife area called: Heart Lake • "Off The Beaten Path" (GC2XFVJ). When seeking these caches you may have to broaden your search area because with the heavy tree cover I did notice coordinates could be off by approximately 25 – 30 feet, but if you look in the obvious areas and pay close attention to the clues, the finds should be quite easy to discover. When trekking to WP2, use the path south of the cow pasture and also reference the additional high crossing waypoint to gain easy access to and from the back area. WP1 is a small camoed pill bottle and WP2 is a small camoed thermos container.
Here is the formula you will use to locate the final of this multicache at WP2.
2011 plus _ _ _ _ = ABCD
2011 plus _ _ _ _ = WXYZ
Please keep in mind that this area is public hunting grounds, so it’s very important to re-hide all caches well to keep them undiscovered from muggles using this area. Also it will be required and highly necessary to wear blaze orange during the deer seasons and PLEASE obey all boundary signs to avoid trespassing onto private land, violators will be prosecuted and I could possibly loose permission to have these caches hidden here. I hope you enjoy your journey at Heart Lake Wildlife Area.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Jim Holzwart, of the DNR office in Berlin, Wisconsin. Geocaches placed on Wis. DNR managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
