Geocache Description:

Eilean Rum aka the Isle of Rum is the largest of the four Small Isles, south of Skye. The island is mostly managed by Scottish Natural Heritage and this cache was hidden with their kind help and support. Please leave the stamp in the box; it's NOT a swap item!

Rum's Wikipedia page has a lot of information on the island.

The given co-ords are NOT where the cache is hidden; they point to a spot with a great view of Kinloch Castle; right infront of it! You may also get a phone signal from here- useful info.

In order to find the hidden box, which is a long way away (bring a bike?), you'll need to follow the clues below...

Your mission on Rum,
Is to have some fun,
In the search for hidden treasure.
At the landing point, Scottish Natural Heritage's grey welcoming signs;
On them, shown twice, is a welcome written on A line/s.
Now enjoy the wild landscapes, wild-life and wild weather!

Follow the road past the castle; quite a sight!
Turn left by the river, keep it to your right.
Continue quite a way, beyond a gate.
On Baxter's side, below his name, B x 6.
It'll take more than oil to get this fixed.
You'll find Baxter high up, in rusted state.

Continue up past waterfalls, along fair track 'til
A split awaits you at the top of the hill.
That's if you're turning right, but Do Not.
After you've seen a low signpost on wood, not rock,
C miles to Kilmory, D miles to Kinloch,
[Temp. help while the sign is missing: C=3, D=2]
Keep left and continue up; you may get hot.

You should now be armed with enough info to find
The geocache's location; a little unkind.
It's not far from the road to avoid ecological stress
But it's the track's highest point, I must confess.
N56° 59.(B+C-D)(C-A)(D-A) W006° 21.(AxC)(C+D)(A-D) is where it's hid.
Please rehide it well and secure that lid!

Huge thanks to Scottish Natural Heritage for permission to hide this cache in the Rum National Nature Reserve and to Sean, who's its local guardian. I hope it brings extra visitors to this remarkable island.
