On August 13th my son Jacob (Geocaching name - Opopoo) will be
conducting his Eagle Scout project at the Alley Pond Environmental
Center. His project entails removing evasive plants. I didn’t
know this area had such a problem until I took a tour.
While he is conducting his project I will have a CITO (Cache In
Trash Out). We will walk along the trails picking up any garbage we
find. Because this area has many wet spots you must stay on the
trails for safety.
The park has some caches including an Earth cache. New caches
and information on new caches around Queens will be available.
Tools and refreshments will be provided, but be sure to bring
work gloves, boots, and wear appropriate attire.
There will be 11 or 12 new caches in Queens on Saturday and
those attending the event will have the information prior to it
being published
Please bring gardening gloves.
If you would like to bring anything we could use snacks,
beverages or ice. This is optional and not a requirement to attend
the event.
Thanks to the generosity of some businesses I have plenty of
door prizes
