Historic Hamilton: Henderson Hospital/What a View! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

stinger503: Archiving this one as it appears that it was shoveled away with the snow. Will add more to the Historic Hamilton series in the coming months. Thanks to all who visited and enjoyed the view. :D

Geocache Description:

By a sidewalk with a great view near Juravinski Hospital.

This is a nano cache, please be careful not to drop it! Lots of muggles nearby so stay stealthy. From the cache site you should be able to see Ivor Wynne, the harbour, the lake, the skyway, even Toronto! And of course Juravinski Hospital.

Juravinski Hospital: First known as Mount Hamilton Hospital, it opened on April 1917 to help care for veterans of the First World War. In 1954, Nora Frances Henderson Hospital opened as a 322-bed maternity hospital on the same site. It was named after the first woman on Hamilton City Council and the first elected to a Canadian city Board of Control. The hospital operated as Henderson General Hospital for several years.

The site was redeveloped in 2010, and renamed Juravinski Hospital after the Juravinskis, who donated $43 million to Hamilton city hospitals! *Source: Wikipedia
