Posted coordinates will lead you to Pioneer cemetery where you will need to gather some information in order to calculate the final location of the cache. As always, please be respectful when visiting a cemetery.
The final is located along Hemlock Trail in Peninsula State Park. Park hours are 6a-11p, and a State Park sticker is required on all vehicles. Follow all park rules, and stay on the trails between stages.
The final is more than half a mile from the cemetery and up on a ridge, so come prepared for a hike. You will not need to go near any drop-off, so this cache should be suitable for the whole family.
This trail is one of the lesser traveled trails in the park, but we really enjoyed our hike. Along the way, we spotted several interesting rock sculptures, and we posted pictures of some of our favorites. Pictures and stories of your hike are welcomed.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the Peninsula State Park office. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: http://www.wi-geocaching.com/hiding
In order to find the final stage, gather the following information from the monuments at Pioneer Cemetery:
The year the first white settler arrived in Door Co. = ABCD
The year he was born = EFGH
The year the founder of Fish Creek died = IJKL
The Final is located at N45 KB.CHD W087 AC.BLC
