this cache is located on the beautiful Emerald Lake. bring some water with you it is about a 2.75 mile hike round trip. The campground is closed in the winter so you have to ski/snowshoe/hike in.. please mark your parking spot in case you get lost. NOTICE a Geo cache notification form has been submitted to Sonja Margitan at the Woodruff dnr station so that this geocache could be placed on state land.
from highway
take the little john jr. lake road to the firefly boat landing. here you can park. backtrack and take the road on the right.( at the v). follow the road and take the road on the left ( logging road ). follow it to the gate. go under the gate and follow the trail to the second trail on the right.
Way from campground
in the first loop is a area with moguls (bike jumps) . take the path leading away from the campground into the woods. follow it untill it intersects a snowmobile trail. keep going straight. take the second path on your right after you see the sign stating "boat motors prohibited on this lake" ( it is a little hidden).
