Park at the small parking lot at the trailhead at Three Forks at
N50 00.752 W117 16.910.
This cache is located approximately half way to our SSHT- Payne's
Bluff Cache (GCWJH2). Your GPS will show that the cache is .6 kms
away.....as a crow flies. Be thankful for the switchbacks that
probably double the distance as you gain over 100 meters of
elevation.
When Mother Nature destroyed our recommended route of travel to
our Payne's Bluff cache the only thing we could do to keep the
cache alive was to give directions to the cache via the shorter but
steeper route.....thus the name of the cache.
The location of the cache is approximately half way to the upper
cache and is a great spot for a break...not only to find the cache
but also to enjoy the views of New Denver Glacier in the
distance.
After your hike we strongly recommend taking a side trip to the
the ghost town of Sandon, which was once the turn of the century
Capital City of the Silvery Slocan.
