Geocache Description:

My father purchased this island in 1972 and sold most of it to the Cruise Ship company around 1990. We kept five acres and build the island club house and what is left of the tower you passed earlier. This is our favorite place to watch the sunset and enjoy a picnic. Hope you enjoy it too!

*************** TO TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS CACHE THAT SEEMS TO DISAPPEAR A LOT ************

Email us the number of flat stones that make up the top layer of the semi circle. An approximate number is fine.

********************************************************************************

You are overlooking the rocky side of the island. The water is 20 feet deep right off the shore and quickly drops off to 100's of feet out where the cruise ship is parked. A mile of so off shore is the Northwest Passage through the Bahamas and ships are always visible there at night.
Little Stirrup Cay (the real name of "CoCo Cay") is the Northern-most island in the Berry island chain. To the south is shallow protected water rich in conch, lobsters and sand sharks. After all, "Bahamas" as in "Baha Mar" means "shallow sea" in Spanish. My Dad wrote a fictionalized account about developing the island and our family's history. The book is called "The Shallow Sea" by Neil Ruzic. It is out of print, but is likely available used on Amazon or other such sites. Enjoy Sunset Point!

Please make sure to secure the cache with rocks so that winds won't blow it away.
